Silene schafta is a delightful, low-growing alpine perennial that holds the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit. It forms a dense, neat cushion of small, lance-shaped bright green leaves that trail outward to create a lush, weed suppressing carpet. From mid summer until late autumn, it produces a non-stop explosion of vibrant, five petalled magenta pink flowers.
