Ajuga reptans 'Burgundy Glow', commonly known as Bugleweed, is a visually striking, low-growing evergreen perennial celebrated for its dynamic, tricoloured foliage. Not many ground cover plants have such distinctive leaves, they feature an irregular mix of creamy-white, rose-pink, and deep burgundy over a grayish-green base. It grows only to 10cm-15cm tall and spreads slowly but intently by runners to form a dense weed supressing mat. In mid-spring to early summer, it sends up small, erect spikes of bright blue-indigo flowers that contrast brilliantly against the colorful carpet below. Exceptional for brightening up shady banks, rock gardens, underplanting trees, or framing walkways. It functions as an outstanding, slow-expanding ground cover.

- PlacementPerforms best in partial shade to full shade. It tolerates full sun only if the soil remains constantly moist. However, too much deep shade can dull the pink and cream variegation. Prefers moist well drained soil that will struggle in dry clay soil.
