Tulipa 'Apeldoorn' is one of the most famous, award-winning Darwin Hybrid tulips in history, celebrated worldwide for its massive, classic chalice-shaped blooms and immense structural strength. It produces exceptionally large, glowing cherry-red blossoms with a subtle orange sheen. When the flowers wide-open in full sun, they reveal a striking, jet-black base finely ringed in bright yellow. Supported by thick, exceptionally sturdy stems, this variety withstands spring wind and heavy rain better than almost any other tall tulip. Requires a position in full sun to achieve its best color and structural strength.
