Feeds & Fertiliser

One of the most popular questions we get asked here at Ahern Nurseries & Plant Centre revolves in one way or another around using fertiliser and feeding plants, it seems like very complicated for a beginner but when you break it down it's quite simple. You've bought and planted your favourite varieties but now you're told you need to feed.

Why Do We Need To Feed?

  • Boost Growth: Essential nutrients drive stronger root development and lush growth
  • Vibrant Blooms: Specialised formulas encourage massive flower production and richer colours.
  • Disease Resistance: Well timed and consistent feeding strengthens plants resistance to pests, weather stress and illness
  • Maximum Yields: Vegetables, edible crops and fruit trees all produce heavier, tastier and stronger crops with consistent feeding.

Our targeted plant feeds come in three main formats to suit your own personal garden routine and plant needs, discover your favourite type and you will start to see the results in no time.

Choose Your Fertiliser Type

  • Liquids Feeds: This is the fast action approach for when you need quick results, liquid feeds deliver nutrients directly to the roots and leaves for rapid growth and an instant boost
  • Granular Feeds: This is more of a slow and steady approach, the slow release granules are sprinkled on or mixed into the soil and they gradually break down over time slowly releasing a steady nourishing feed
  • Soluble Powder: These powders are super concentrated and are dissolved in water to produce a high potency, fast acting feed similar to the liquid feed mentioned above. This can be used with your regular watering schedule
